Mrs. Grace Harris Freeman, 80
Mrs. Grace Harris Freeman died Aug. 3 at the home of Francis (Jimmie) Clements’ home.
She was born March 30, 1942, in Telfair County to Tom and Mary McRae Harris.
She was a life-long resident of Telfair County, where she attended Telfair County Schools. She was a faithful member of Love Temple House of Prayer by Faith #2. She enjoyed beating the big bass drum and singing her favorite song, “Truly God Don’t Lie.”
Grace made an eternal impact on many lives. She had a good heart and enjoyed talking to and meeting people. She would talk for hours as if she has known you for a lifetime. She loved bingo, travel, dancing and creating natural remedies.
Grace is preceded in death by her parents; daughters Dorothy Harris and Niese Harris; sisters Vera Mae Harris, Emma Sue Tobler, Dessie Mae Harris, and Baby Ruth Harris; raised as her sister, Annie Ruth Jones; brothers Willie Lee Harris, James Harris, Durell Harris; and grandson, Martes Antijuan Robinson.
Survivors include daughters, Sophia Patterson (Samuel) of Macon, Francis Clements (Jimmy Lee) of Lumber City, Melsina Robinson of Lumber City, Elvira Moses of Lumber City, Gracie Bacon (Terrance) of Perry and Connise Robinson of Lumber City; as a daughter, Shonda Diane Mitchell of Milan; godson, Lanard Walker of McRae; brother, Edgar Lee Harris of Miami, Fla.; and sisters Tommy Lee Batten of Lumber City and Mildred Hester of Miami, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Her funeral was held Aug. 13 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Lumber City, with interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Lumber City.
