Mr. Marion Parker Purvis, 61

Mr. Marion Parker Purvis, 61, of Lumber City, died peacefully April 17 surrounded by his family. The funeral will be held at 4 p.m., April 21, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home, McRae, with burial at Central Grove Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, at Vaughn Funeral Home.
A native of McRae, Mr. Purvis was the son of Charles Purvis and Sandra Lovett Reeves. He worked for many years at McRae Manor Nursing Home and at Shaw Industries before retiring to work with his father selling produce. Mr. Purvis loved life, loved his family, and met no stranger. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tristen Pritchett.
Survivors include his daughter, Sandra (Jamie) Selph of Hazlehurst; mother, Sandra Reeves; father, Charles Purvis; brother, Wendell Purvis; sister, Zelda Fussell; and grandchildren, Lexus Pritchett, Jenna Pritchett, Caiden Pritchett, Jamie-Lynn Selph and Trey Selph.
