Mrs. Clara Jean Rowland Creech, 87, of Denton, passed away Feb. 9 at her residence in Denton.
Mrs. Creech was born Sept. 3, 1934, to the late Charles Wesley Rowland and the late Minnie Deen Rowland. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Clarence Creech Jr.; siblings Junior (Winnie) Rowland, Willard L. (Lucille) Rowland and Raymond Rowland; and sister-in-Law, Faye Rowland.
Mrs. Creech, a native of Pierce County, was a homemaker. She was a member of Macedonia Church of God in Denton.
Survivors include sons Randy Creech and Danny Creech both of Denton; brother Donald Rowland of Blackshear; five grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
The funeral was held Feb. 11 at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Bishop Van McCall officiating. Interment followed at Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Wayne Kight, Britt Taylor, Cody Bryant, Keith Smith, Robert Stafford and George Andrews.
Music, “Go Rest High On That Mountain” was presented by soloist Angie McCall, “Drinking From My Saucer” was presented by Michael Combs and “If There’s a Phone In Heaven” was presented Mac Manuel .
