Mr. John J. Balcom, 44, of Hazlehurst, passed away Nov. 13 at Jeff Davis Hospital.
Mr. Balcom was born Oct. 29, 1977, in Vidalia. He was employed with South Georgia Coating (Kelvin and Angie Wilcox) for 19 years.
John was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. But he was more excited about his new baby boy, Drayden.
He is survived by his fiancé, Cherish McCall; son Drayden Jacob Balcom; bonus son, Bentley McCall; parents, Johnny and Alice Balcom of Hazlehurst; brother Nathon Balcom (Shaniece) of Stone Mountain; sisters, Angela Brown (Reshon) of Hazlehurst, Rotunda Balcom (Lawrence) of Baxley, LaDina Balcom of Hazlehurst; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Extended family is Kelvin and Angie Wilcox, Casey Wilcox, Lauren Ball and Lindsey Klees.
Services were held Nov, 20 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Brazzell, the Rev. Jordan Ball and Kelvin Wilcox officiating.
Interment followed in Hall and Wilcox Cemetery, Barney Road, Hazlehurst.
Honorary pallbearers were Kelvin and Angie Wilcox, Donald and Robyn Crumpler, Casey and Bree Wilcox, South Georgia Coating employees, Class of 1996, Jordan and Lauren Ball, and Jay and Lindsey Klees.
Active pallbearers were Ryan Miller, Jason Carver, Jeremy Wood, Nathon Balcom, Jonathan Rooks, Kyle Summerlin, Jonah Wilson, Casey Wilcox, Ashley Jacobs, Cyntelle Langston, Lennis Rooks, and Stephen Dukes.
