Ms. Betty Harper of Evans, 66, entered into rest Oct. 30 in Augusta.
Ms. Harper was born Jan. 5, 1955, in Hazlehurst. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Edna Johnson. Ms. Harper was retired from grocery store management in Louisville, where she lived for more than 25 years and was a member of the United Methodist Church.
“Ms. Betty” was known for being a hard worker, with a heart of compassion, who was proud of her children and adored her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Jason Harper (Tristin) of Newnan, Jonathan Harper (Beth) of Evans, Heather Collins (Delano) of Evans and Jack Harper of Snipesville; siblings, Laura Rae of Hazlehurst, Bruce Johnson of Hazlehurst, Sonya Gibson of Hazlehurst, and Janie Johnson of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Alexis Harper, TJ Harper, Austin Harper, Anna Liz Harper, Cody Harper, Ben Collins, Sam Collins, and Luke Collins; nieces and nephews, Sabrina Richardson, Stephanie Thornton, Brandi Johnson, Lana Owings, Chris Carter, Levi Carter, Matthew Carter, Bryan Johnson, Justin Williams; several great-nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. at Hazlehurst City Cemetery with the Rev. Bryan Brazzell officiating.
