Mr. Dwight Earl Carter, 71

Mr. Dwight Earl Carter, 71, of Brunswick, departed this life Nov. 7 at Greenville Memorial Hospital, in Greenville, S.C. A celebration of life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Nov. 13 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Father Alan Akridge officiating.
Born Jan. 5, 1950, in Hazlehurst to the late Earl Eugene Carter and Etta Mae Hughes, he was a graduate of Jeff Davis High School Class of 1967. Mr. Carter received his Bachelor’s Degree from Valdosta State College in 1972. He retired from Georgia Power in 2003 where he supervised Project Control and Materials Management. He was Glynn County resident since 1994.
Dwight was an avid fisherman and loved being out on the water. When he was not fishing, he spent many hours growing beautiful gardens and loved to share his harvest. He was a dedicated fan of his UGA Bulldogs. Many Saturdays were spent with family and friends cheering them on to victory. He was particularly fond of beautiful sunsets capturing many of them in pictures. Dwight loved many things but above all he loved the time he spent with family and friends and watching his grandchildren grow.
Survivors include his son Denny Carter and wife Dana of Brunswick; grandchildren, Hayes, Hudson, and Camille; beloved soulmate, Jane Spence of Brunswick and her family; brothers, Farren Carter and Ken Carter both of Hazlehurst, and Todd Carter and wife Denise of Brunswick; and several nieces and nephews.
