Mr. Jimmy Adams, 71

Mr. Jimmy Adams, 71, of Lumber City, died Sept. 7 at Memorial Health University in Savannah.
Mr. Adams was born Oct. 5, 1949, in Laurens County. He is preceded in death by his parents Luther Alphis Adams, Maggie Eva Mercer Adams; siblings Ted Adams, Janice Nobles, Charles Adams, Bill Adams, and Geraldine Adams.
Mr. Adams was a Vietnam Veteran of the United States Army where he received two purple hearts, was in law enforcement for more than 23 years, served as Police Chief of Lumber City for 12 years, and was a Mason. He enjoyed fishing, carpentry, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Sandra Elaine Floyd Adams of Lumber City; son, Eric Butler (Kristi) of Hazlehurst; daughters, Crystal Dawn Adams Taylor (Richard) of Hazlehurst and Ashley Elaine Adams Spell of Lumber City; brother, Ronnie Adams (Brenda) of Alston; sister, Glenda Adams Cannon (John) of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Dakota Miller, Mackenzie Butler, William Carpenter, Zachary Taylor, Zoey Taylor, Jared Adams, Kadence Spell, Jaylyn Spell, Brayden Spell, Alexander Spell and Karim Spell.
Graveside services were held Sept. 11 at Stuckey Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. David Dean and the Rev. Glen Stinson officiating.
Active pallbearers were Johnny Smith, Anthony Pittman, John Cannon, James Atkins, Shane McCullan and Mitch Herrington.
