Mr. Wayne ‘Suitcase’ Simpson, 72

Mr. Wayne “Suitcase” Simpson, 72, of Waycross, died June 16.
Mr. Simpson was born Feb. 7, 1949, in Montgomery County and is preceded in death by his parents, Grady Simpson and Eudelle Conner Simpson, brothers, Gene (Lucille) Simpson and Hugh (Jackie) Simpson, dear friend, Wayne Moseley and his family. He was a member of the Montgomery County graduating class of 1967, a retired recreation director and was employed by the State of Georgia and a member of Victor Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter, Lauren Simpson and all her girls of Waycross; brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Liz Simpson of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews, Donna Jean Simpson, Grady Simpson, Chuck Simpson, Danny Simpson, Tammy Simpson, Brent Simpson; lifelong friends, Wayne Copeland and family; Michael McColley; Steve Calhoun and family; and the mother of his child, Lynne Simpson.
Services were held June 19 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Reece Mincey, the Rev. Adam Henderson and the Rev. Thomas Kelly officiating.
Interment followed in Dead River Cemetery, Montgomery County.
Honorary pallbearers were employees of Ware State Georgia Department of Corrections.
Active pallbearers were Joe Moseley, Wayne Moseley, Delma Moseley, Lindsay Moseley, Chuck Moseley and Lawrence Moseley.
