Mr. Herman Albert ‘Bones’ Whatley Jr., 85

Mr. Herman Albert “Bones” Whatley Jr., 85, of Griffin, passed away June 6 at Macon Medical Center.
Albert was born in Griffin Sept. 14, 1935. His parents, Herman Albert “Bill” Whatley Sr. and Eron Brooks Whatley preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during the Korean War. Albert was retired from the United States Postal Service and was a member of Searcy Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors include, his wife of 65 years, Martha Q. Whatley; sons, Mike and Pat Whatley, Chuck and Kimberly Whatley, Andy Whatley; grandchildren, Josh, Kristin and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Sophie and Vinton.
Graveside service will be June 9 at 1 p.m. at Philadelphia United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family ask that you omit flowers, and make a contribution to Searcy Memorial United Methodist Church, 205 Spalding Street, Griffin, Ga 30223 or to Philadelphia United Methodist Church, 309 Philadelphia Church Road, Hazlehurst, Ga 31539 in memory of Albert.
