Mrs. Ruth Walters McNeal, 82

Mrs. Ruth Walters McNeal, 82, of Hazlehurst, died May 20 at her residence.
Mrs. McNeal was born March 4, 1939, in Jeff Davis County. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arley Kermit Walters and Myrtle Schell Walters Wildes, step-father, Clyde Wildes and brother, Alton Walters.
Mrs. McNeal was an advid flower gardner, she loved landscaping her yard, which always looked like something out of a magazine. She will sadly be missed by her family and all that drove by and gazed at her flowers. She was a bookkeeper for McNeal Motors, the family business, for 46 years and a member of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Mr. W.A. McNeal of Hazlehurst; son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Mary McNeal of Hazlehurst; siblings, Herbert Walters (Wallene) of Alabama, Fannie Lou Summerlin Rentz of Hazlehurst; Myrtle Lee Powell Revel (David) of Columbus; Albert Wildes (Ann) of Alma and sister-in-law, Shirley Walters of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Matthew McNeal (Chasity) of Garfield, Daniel McNeal (Kristen) of Hazlehurst, Melanie McNeal Varnadore (Mark) of Baxley; great-grandchildren, Cooper McNeal, Jaxson McNeal, Ryleigh Varnadore and Gracie McNeal; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held May 23 at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst with the Rev. Brad Waters and the Rev. Robert Wigley officiating.
Members of her Sunday School Class, Ladies 4, served as honorary pallbearers.
Active pallbearers were Matthew McNeal, Daniel McNeal, Mark Varnadore, Marty Walters, Rex McNeal and Danny McNeal.
Interment followed in the Mt Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.
Music was rendered by Brian Summerlin, Jeffery Spell, Jimmie Ryles, the Rev. Brad Waters, Rose and John Hunt.
