Mrs. Hilda M. Wasdin, 88
Graveside services for Mrs. Hilda M. Wasdin, 88, who died of natural causes Oct. 3 at Poet’s Walk in Warrenton, VA, were held May 22 at Hazlehurst City Cemetery where the Rev. Barry Owens officiated.
Mrs. Wasdin was born Heldegard Maria Rosa Kreusel in Jablonec nad Nisou, Czechoslovakia. Her parents are Josefine and Klemens Kreusel. She immigrated to the United States with her husband, Waldo “Buck” Wasdin, and their two daughters on Dec. 9,1955. She and her husband, Buck, resided in Hazlehurst for 40 years following Buck’s retirement from the U.S. Air Force. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and singing with the Folly Friends from Southside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Waldo “Buck” Wasdin, a grandson; her brother, Rudy, and their parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Alice Copeland and son-in-law, Guy Copeland of Fairfax Station, VA; daughter, Connie Edwards and son-in-law, Dave Edwards of Georgetown, TX; two granddaughters, Kelly David of Austin, TX and Michelle Hale of Warrenton, VA; grandson, Bryan Edwards of San Antonio, TX; two great-granddaughters, Julia and Sara Hale; and four great-grandsons, Evan and Ethan David, and Kyle and Jacob Edwards.
Wainwright & Parlor Funeral Home of Hazlehurst was in charge of arrangements.
