16 Teams Left In Playoffs

Vidalia and Jeff Davis, the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds from Region 2-AA in the state baseball playoffs, both advanced to the second round of tournament play with series wins last week.
The Indians easily knocked off Washington County 10-0, 16-10, while the Yellow Jackets were stretched to three games by Jasper County-Monticello, 1-4, 7-0, 11-2.
Bacon County and Toombs County, the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds from 2-AA, lost in their opening round series. The Raiders fell to Dodge County 7-6, 15-11, and the Bulldogs lost to Bleckley County, 11-3, 10-1.
This week, May 4-5, Jeff Davis hosts Fitzgerald, the No. 4 seed from 1-AA which defeated Region 4-AA No. 1 seed Jefferson County, 2-10, 9-5, 11-6. Vidalia plays host to Berrien County, the No. 3 seed from 1-AA, which downed 4-AA No. 2 seed Westside-Augusta, 3-0, 9-0.
The Jeff Davis-Fitzgerald winner will face the winner of the Dodge County at Thomasville winner May 10-11 and the Vidalia-Berrien winner takes on the Lovett at Elbert County victor.
In other second round action, Pepperell hosts Callaway, Haralson County travels to Pace Academy, Putnam County goes to Bleckley County and Bremen plays at home against Model.
