Mr. Gary Allen Burkett, 49

Mr. Gary Allen Burkett, age 49, of Denton, died April 19 at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
Mr. Burkett was born Oct. 21, 1971, in Douglas. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Edward Burkett and Edna Levine Meeks Burkett, and brother, Freddie Burkett. Gary was larger than life and was dramatic to the end. Go Dawgs and never Roll Tide and it’s time for Gator tail snacking. We Love You Gary Allen! He was an avid golfer, fisherman and was a member of Mt Pleasant Baptist Church. Gary will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Crawford Burkett of Denton; son, Michael Burkett of Douglas; daughter and son-in-law, Cassie and Chuy Osorio of Uvalda; brother, Eddie Burkett (Connie) of Douglas; sisters, Ann Hall (Donald) of Douglas and Rhonda Waters (Arley) of Nichols; grandchildren, Paige, Mason, Ryleigh, Alea, Brandon, and Ayden; loads of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date and will be held at Jeff Davis Middle School.
