Mr. Earl Brantley, 61
Services for Mr. Earl Brantley, 61, who died April 2 at Hazlehurst Court Care and Rehabilitation, were held April 9 at Mt. Matthews A.M.E. Church in Hazlehurst.
The Rev. Bettye D. Williams, Pastor Henry Josey, Brother Jesse Hagan, and Brother Aaron Brantley officiated with burial in St. Matthews A.M.E. Church Cemetery.
Mr. Brantley, son of the late Napoleon and Gladys Benjamin Brantley, was born in Hazlehurst. He received his formal education from Jeff Davis County School System and graduated in 1978. He was a member of St. Matthew’s A.M.E. Church. He worked at Hazlehurst Mills, Food Lion, and Beasley Forest Products. He was employed for over 14 years at Hazlehurst Mills. In his free time, he loved to watch movies, try new foods, and work in his garden. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Brantley, and two brothers.
Survivors include brothers, Napoleon Brantley Jr., Norman Brantley, and Samson Brantley, all of Hazlehurst, Calvin Brantley of Baxley and Aaron (Patricia) Brantley of Atlanta; sisters, Pearl Ware of Atlanta, Senior Phillips, and Helen (Eddie) Harmon, both of Hazlehurst; sister-in-law, Teresa Escobar Brantley and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Active pallbearers were Calvin Brantley, Norman Brantley, Ronald Ware, Napoleon Brantley Jr., Aaron Brantley, Samson Brantley and Napoleon Brantley III.
Honorary pallbearers were Andrew Wooten, Anthony Wooten, Nathan McKever, Alvin Brantley, Johnny Tillis, and Tommy McDew.
Thornton Funeral Home of Hazlehurst was in charge.
