Girls win sixth straight championship

Jeff Davis High School tennis teams both got a bye into the second round of region championships last week when they solidified their spots as #1 seed (girls) and #2 seed (boys).
Last Tuesday, Jeff Davis hosted the region championship tournament with five teams from across the southeast. Jeff Davis boys played their first match against Swainsboro and won 3-1. Jeff Davis girls played their first match against Vidalia and won 3-1.
Both teams played in the region championship game. The boys fell to Bacon County 1-4. The girls won a nail biter 3-2.
Jeff Davis High School boys are region 2AA runner-up while the girls are region champions.
Jeff Davis High school girls are no strangers to the region champ title making this the 6th year in a row (excluding 2020 since the season was not finished) they have held the title.
Next up the boys and girls will host the first round of state at home. JDH girls will play Monday at noon versus Lamar County. JDH boys will play Monday at 4 p.m. versus Dodge County.
