Mr. Don Wilkes, 83

Mr. Don Wilkes, 83, of Hazlehurst, died April 5 at Bacon County Hospital in Alma.
Mr. Wilkes was born Dec. 19, 1937, in Telfair County. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred Paul Wilkes and Sarah Pittman Wilkes and his beloved wife, Geraldine Carter Wilkes. He was retired from Hazlehurst Mills and a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Andy and Beth Wilkes of Douglas; grandson, Joel Wilkes of Douglas; brother, Paul Wilkes (Kathy) of Hazlehurst; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held April 7 at Mt Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Brazzell officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were his Hillcrest Church family and staff members at Twin Oaks Nursing Home.
