Mr. David Earl Floyd, 77

Mr. David Earl Floyd, 77, of Hazlehurst, passed away March 9 at Jeff Davis Hospital under the care of Community Hospice.
Mr. Floyd was born April 11, 1943, in Wayne County. He is preceded in death by his parents, DeRoy Floyd and Mamie Nalley Floyd, siblings, Frances Dyal, Irene Williams, JoAnn Cribbs, Poss Floyd, Robbie Floyd and W.D. Floyd. Mr. Floyd was retired from Jeff Davis Hospital as a maintenance supervisor and also was employed with Jeff Davis Board of Education as a bus driver for approximately 24 years. He attended Hazlehurst Church of God.
Survivors include his wife Cathy Lytle Floyd of Hazlehurst; sons, David Duane Floyd of Hazlehurst and Ronald Rowland of Hazlehurst; daughter, Helen Sellers (Herman) of Hazlehurst; sister, Hazel Taylor of Hazlehurst; brothers, Bobby Floyd of Florida and J.E. Floyd (Barbara) of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Candace Floyd, Jenna Griffin (Kevin), Jackson Floyd, Delayna Turner, Shaila Ellis and Bowen Dixon; great-grandchildren, Jada Beth Hill, Bailey Ellis, Jackie and Blair Dixon; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 12 at Hazlehurst Church of God with the Rev. John Nunes and the Rev. Dwain Joiner officiating.
Interment followed in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
All friends and family in attendance were honorary pallbearers.
Active pallbearers were Herman Sellers, Bowen Dixon, Keith Hill, Keven Griffin, Tony New and Shon McEachin.
