Mrs. Martha Vaughn Batchelor, 82

Mrs. Martha Vaughn Batchelor, 82, of Baxley died Feb. 18 at the Pavilion.
Mrs. Batchelor was born Sept. 14, 1938, in Hazlehurst to the late Ubia Samuel Sellers and the late Ruby Lee Overstreet Sellers. She was a member of Church of Christ and retired from the Appling County Board of Education as food service manager at Appling County Middle School.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Batchelor was preceded in death by her husband, Dupree Johnson Vaughn Sr.; sisters, Opal Hutchinson and Bonnell Hall; and brothers, Earl Sellers, Charles Sellers, and Alton Sellers.
Survivors include her husband, Lou Batchelor of Fitzgerald; daughters and sons in law, Rhonda V. and Algerie Johnson of Baxley and Laurie V. and Joey White of Southaven, Miss.; sons and daughters in law, Dupree J. “Johnny” and Carolyn Vaughn of Baxley, Jerry “JJ” and Wendy Vaughn of Baxley, Lavan and Daisha Vaughn of Baxley, and Randy Vaughn of Hinesville; sisters, Gwen McNeal of Braselton and Mary Seanor of Eufaula, Ala.; brothers, Roger Sellers and Wayne Sellers, both of Hazlehurst; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren with one great-grandchild on the way.
A graveside service was held Feb. 21 at Appling Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Joey White officiating.
Active pallbearers were Jordan Vaughn, Bryan White, Joshua White, Orrin Johnson, Aaron Vaughn, John Ramsey, Jonathan Williams, and Devin Causey.
Honorary pallbearers were the staff of Appling County Middle School, staff of B Hall at the Pavilion, and staff of Comfort Care Hospice.
Swain Funeral Home was in charge.
