Mrs. Laura Kim Buford, 64

Mrs. Laura Kim Buford, 64, passed away Jan. 22 following an extended illness.
Mrs. Buford was born Sept. 10, 1956, in Hazlehurst. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore R. “T.R.” Buford and Doshie Hester Buford, a sister, Carole Deanna Sain and a brother-in-law, Hal Sain. She was the sole proprietor of Laura Kim Buford, Attorney at Law. Aside from obtaining her Juris Doctorate from Nova University, she also received her Master’s of Education from Georgia Southern University. She was very dedicated to her profession and was well respected by her peers. She was a former basketball coach, who stayed in contact with all her former players. She was a wonderful friend, sister and stepmother. She was always willing to help those in need and push others to achieve more.
She is survived by her loving wife, Sandra Aycock of Hazlehurst; granddaughter, Laney Thompson of Hazlehurst; step-daughter, Angela (Corri Batten) Quillen of Marietta; brother, Ted (Vicki) Buford of Jesup; a host of nieces and nephews; and her beloved dogs, Mac and Maisy.
A celebration of life service will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Jan. 27 at her residence, 30 Buford Road, Hazlehurst.
