Mrs. Evelyn Dixon Beecher, 87

Mrs. Evelyn Dixon Beecher, 87, passed away Jan. 17.
Mrs. Beecher was born March 23, 1933, in Jeff Davis County. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Dixon and Birdie Mae Dixon and brothers, Gerald Dixon and Ronald Dixon. She has made her home in Hazlehurst for the past 61 years after living and traveling as a military wife with her husband, Allen. She owned and operated Evelyn’s Artistry in Hair Fashion for over 20 years. She was a member of Satilla Free Will Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Vickie) Beecher of Conyers, Steve (Wanda) Beecher of Ambrose and Rick (Valerie) Beecher of Dunwoody; brother, Harry (Terry) Dixon of Hazlehurst; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Jan. 20 at Satilla Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Smith officiating.
Active pallbearers were Harry Dixon, Dennis Rentz, Chris Ferguson, Brad Burnam, Floyd Musgrove and Billy Burnam.
