Ga. CVB head visits Hazlehurst

GACVB Executive Director Jay Markwalter, MMTA President Sonya Miller, MMTA Past President Blondale Thomas, Appling County Tourism Director Keylee Johnson, Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis Chamber Chairman Eric Smith, and Wheeler County Chamber President Janice Mock.

Georgia Convention & Visitors Bureau Executive Director Jay Markwalter visited Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis this week for the monthly Magnolia Midlands Travel Association (MMTA) meeting.  Sonya Miller, President of the Hazlehurst-Jeff Davis Chamber of Commerce, currently serves as the President of MMTA, bringing the regional spotlight on Hazlehurst.
Markwalter was the guest speaker who spoke on the importance of tourism and communication within the community.
“As Chamber and MMTA President, we realize the significance of tourism locally and the impact tourism makes on our economy,” said Miller.  “Communication and having our local leaders working together as a team makes our community so much more powerful and attractive to tourists and businesses.”
