Mr. Roosevelt McRae, 80
Graveside services for Mr. Roosevelt McRae, 84, who died Nov. 22, were held Nov. 28 at Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery with Apostle Johnny Watkins doing the eulogy.
The prayer was by Minister Zacchaeus Tyson. The Rev. Henry Josey read from the Old Testament and the Rev. Caldean Wilcox read from the New Testament. Music was provided by Evangelist Adrian Dewitt Knox II and Word International Praise Team.
Mr. McRae was born March 17, 1936, to the late Johnny and Bertha McRae. He was passionate about his family and was a star basketball player at Hazlehurst High School. He was a member of House of God Church, was employed with Wilson Hardware and retired from Ridge Pallets. He was preceded in death by a brother Walter John McRae.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years Louella McRae; children Clarice (Cornelius) Wooten, Wanda Lawrence, Marilyn Wallace, Miranda McRae (Joe) Harmon, Shelia Knox, and Gary (Nikita) McRae; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces, nephews and friends.
Active pallbearers were Joe L. Harmon Jr., Alton H. Stripling, Zacchaeus Tyson, Adrian Dewitt Knox II, William Cameron Knox, Ahmad Clements, and Alex Brantley.
King Brothers Funeral Home was in charge.
