Recount finds no fraud

Jeff Davis County’s recount of the Nov. 3 election votes turned out exactly the same vote totals as originally tallied on election day, according to Supervisor of Elections Christy Riner.
But President Donald Trump has requested another recount and election officials will have to gather again to count the votes for a third time. Riner said she has not been informed of when that third counting will be ordered by state election officials but she was assuming it will be some time after the Thanksgiving holiday period.
Riner said she and four others did the recount as she had to call in three temporary workers to assist with the count. She said their work began about 9 a.m. and was completed about 4 p.m. the same day. While she had not computed the exact cost of the effort, she estimated it costs Jeff Davis taxpayers $300-$400. That amount will have to be spent again for the third count.
