Mr. Raymond Kersey, 69
Miles Funeral Home in Hazlehurst announces the graveside service for Mr. Raymond Kersey, 69, of Lumber City who passed away Nov. 18. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Midway Baptist Church Cemetery in Appling County with Minister Johnny Taylor officiating. Graveside visitation with the family will be Saturday from 2-3 p.m.
Mr. Kersey was born in Appling County. He was the son of the late Thomas Easter Kersey and Willie Nora Mock Kersey and was preceded in death by a step-father Hugh M. Kersey; brothers Thomas Edward Kersey and Monroe Pete Mock; sister Barbara Ann Ivey. Mr. Kersey also known as the “Golden Goose” was a retired truck driver.
Survivors include daughters Tanya Mosley (Greg Sheffield) of Baxley, Jessica Brooks (Daniel) of Maine, Angela Hall (Justin) of Hazlehurst; son Elliot Kersey of Lumber City; special friend D.J. Griffin; sisters Betty Reagin, Faye Carter and Katheryn Kersey all of Hazlehurst; brothers Calvin Kersey of Baxley, Joe Kersey of Hazlehurst; mothers of his children Sharon Ford and Shirley Varnadoe; grandchildren Hunter Mosley, Michaela Mosley, Jared Brooks, Destiny Brooks, Joseph Brooks and Desiree Brooks; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bank of Lumber City to offset his medical expenses.
