Mr. Emmett H. O’Conner, 82
Mr. Emmett H. O’Conner, 82, of Hazlehurst, died Nov. 5 at East Georgia Regional Hospital in Statesboro.
Mr. Emmett was born Oct. 17, 1938, in Montgomery County. He is preceded in death by his parents, Buck O’Conner and Ethel Lawrence O’Conner, great-grandson, Cadence Rhett King, sister, Nellie Joiner and brother, Johnny O’Conner. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was retired from Hazlehurst Mills as an equipment operator. He enjoyed driving a truck for Beasley Products, was a member of Hazlehurst Church of God and formerly attended Oak Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mrs. Marian Pickren O’Conner of Hazlehurst; daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and Tim Mason of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Cory Mason (Candice) of Hazlehurst, Ashley Davis (Dylan) of Hazlehurst and Kayla King (Justin) of Hazlehurst; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors and with the Rev. Keith Yawn officiating.
