Mr. Larry E. Morris, 59
Mr. Larry E. Morris, 59, of Hazlehurst, died Nov. 2 at Jeff Davis Hospital.
Mr. Morris was born Dec. 9, 1960, in Telfair County. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Lenna Watson Morris.
He was a graduate of the class of 1978 of Jeff Davis High School. He graduated Zeta Beta Tau from University of Georgia in 1981 with a degree in Agriculture.
Then he returned to Jeff Davis County and became the owner and operator of Ocmulgee Western Wear for many years.
He loved the farm, roping and people, he never met a stranger, and loved to talk.He spent a lot of time traveling the country, he was a devout Christian, loved the Lord, loved listening and singing gospel music. He was employed with Beasley Timber and a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shelia Sears Morris of Hazlehurst; brother, Charles Morris (Carlin) Morris of Dallas, Texas; sister, Raylene Morris Carter (Gary) of LaGrange; step-son, Kyle Hosmer (Kaitlyn) of Hazlehurst; step-daughter, Brittney Lewis of Hazlehurst; mother-in-law, Shirley Walters of Hazlehurst; brother- and sister-in-law, Marty and Cindy Walters of Hazlehurst; niece, Caitlin and Mike Hyatt of Dallas, Texas; nephew, Charlie and Lindsey Morris of Dallas, Texas, Garret Walters of Hazlehurst and Cade Walters of Hazlehurst; five great-nieces, a great-nephew and six grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Nov. 3 in Palms Memorial Garden with the Rev. J. Barry Owens officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were all family and friends in attendance.
Active pallbearers were Kyle Hosmer, Cade Walters, Garret Walters, Craig Rowell, Kyle McClendon and Ralph Edwards.
