Mrs. Lucile Sharpe, 87

Services for Mrs. Lucile Sharpe, 87, who died Sept. 18, were held
Mrs. Sharpe was born in Sandersville to the late Arrinzie and Clide Wilcox Duncan Sept. 18, 1933. She was raised in the Hallspur Community where she was called ‘Cile or Sister.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Clyde Sharpe, son, Arrinzie “Junior” Wilcox, and sisters-in-law Ophelia Sharpe and Isadora Brookins.
Mrs. Sharpe worked on the family farm for several years and loved to cook. Mrs. Sharpe was a leader in the community, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star over 50 years, active member of St. Matthews A.M.E. Church over 70 years. In 2011, she received the faithful servant award by the Waycross District A.M.E Church. She retired from the Jeff Davis County Board of Education after 17 years. She enjoyed watching game shows, eating out and shopping. She was devoted to her family and was known throughout Hazlehurst and the St. Matthews A.M.E. Church Community for her delicious cakes and pies.
Survivors include her children Jeanette Miller, Anthony (Linda) Sharpe, and Michael (Gina) Sharpe; grandchildren Shelman (Asrar) Miller, Nikole Miller, and Faizon Webster; great-grandchildren Kiara Gunn-Miller and Lucy Stanley; niece and nephew Gwendolyn and Jesse Hagans; niece Jacquelyn Burkett; school friends Christine Walker and Betty Kornegay; special friends Margarette Bryson, Greg Lloyd, Betty Rainey, Angie Ushery, and Gayle Wooten; special friend Virginia Washington; and a host of other relatives and friends.
