Mrs. Martha Sue Ward, 65

Mrs. Martha Sue Ward, 65, of Hazlehurst, passed away Sept. 13 at Candler Hospital in Savannah.
Mrs. Ward was born Feb. 25, 1955, in Hazlehurst. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late, J.A. Yawn Sr. and Jackie Thompson Carter and her step-father, J.N. Carter. She was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She was also manager of Preferred Loan & Tax Services.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Ward; daughter, Jenna Maria Ward; son, Jacob Calvin Ward; grandson, Parker Ward; brothers, Joe Allen Yawn, Jack Yawn, Jay Yawn and Ray Yawn of Hazlehurst; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 16 at Hillcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Brazzell officiating
The family will greet friends from 3:00 until funeral hour at the church.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the Ward family and Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home respectfully ask all in attendance to wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines set by the local health district and the CDC.
