Mr. Otto James Roundtree Sr. ‘Batman’

Graveside services for Mr. Otto James Roundtree Sr. “Batman”, 75, who died Sept. 3 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, were held Sept. 13 at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Denton where the Rev. Sylvester Roundtree officiated.
Mr. Roundtree, born in Hazlehurst, was the son of the late Elijah Roundtree and the late Mary Lou Frazier of Hazlehurst. He attended school in Jeff Davis County, was a member of St. Matthew A.M.E. Church in Hazlehurst and was employed at Hazlehurst Mills, retiring after 33 years. He was married to the late Geraldine Littleton Roundtree. He enjoyed buying cars of various models and loved to dress, especially wearing his cape as Batman. Preceding him in death are his parents, his wife, his son, Otto James Roundtree Jr.; his daughter, Pamela Clemons Roundtree, and one nephew, Otto James Roundtree III.
Survivors include his children, Michael, Lilmort, Mitchell (Shan), Corey Roundtree, all of Douglas, Edward (Tammy) Roundtree of Savannah, and Katrina (Ricky) Roundtree of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Chekele, Shamericus, Chaise, Chance, Dovanna, Shantrise, Kayla, Lamae, Brianna, Shawn, Stanley, Jaylan, Ebony, Dashia, Jordan, Letisha, Michella, Clarisha Roundtree and Ricky Foote; one sister, Rose Roundtree of Uvalda; two uncles, James Harris and Rev. Sylvester Roundtree, both of Uvalda; nieces and nephews, Connie and Crystal Littleton, and Isaiah Roundtree; caregiver/cousin, Gloria Parker and a host of relatives and friends.
Thornton’s Funeral Home of Hazlehurst was in charge of arrangements.
