Mr. Eddie D. Peterson, 71

Mr. Eddie D. Peterson, 71, of West Green, passed away Sept. 17 at Coffee Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Peterson was born April 27, 1949, in Coffee County, the son of the late Albert and Ruth Courson Peterson. He worked as a welder with Mid-South Trailers and was a member of Lone Hill United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce P. Brown and a brother, Wayne Peterson.
Survivors include daughters, Michelle Jones (Chip) of Douglas, and Kesha Miles (Steven) of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Keirton Miles, Ruth Ann Miles, Courtney Fuller (Richard), Amanda Merritt (Jay), Jaci Jones and Madison Jones; great grandchildren, Aleigh Fuller, Ross Fuller, Ian Merritt and Noah Merritt; sister-in-law, Shirley Peterson of Baxley.
Services were held Sept. 21 at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rthe ev. Lonnie Spikes officiating with Miles Newton giving the eulogy. Interment followed at Lone Hill Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Alex Suttles, Alex Deen, Tracy Deen, Jay Merritt, Michael Courson and Richard Fuller. Honorary pallbearers were Steven Miles and Chip Jones. Musical selections were “Rough Ride to Heaven,” “I Believe,” “Amazing Grace” and “Because He Lives,” all on CD.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to Sims Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.simsfuneralhome.org.
