Mrs. Nora Maude Vaughan, 88

Mrs. Nora Maude Vaughan, 88, of Byron, Minn., and Hazlehurst died Aug. 24 at Madonna Summit.
Nora was born March 11, 1932, in Hazlehurst to Claude and Ouida Ryles. She graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1950. On Dec. 2, 1950, she married Prince Vaughan. The couple lived in Hazlehurst throughout their marriage until Prince passed away in 2010. Nora was a homemaker and hosted numerous hearty family gatherings during their time together. Nora moved to Minnesota in 2017 to be closer to a daughter and grandchildren.
Nora loved her family, her church family, walking with friends, cross-stitching and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her son, Stanley Vaughan of Hazlehurst; daughter, Stephanie Wendorff (Jim) of Byron, Minn.; son-in-law, Eric Hester; grandchildren Rachel Vaughan, James Wendorff, Brooke Wendorff; and great-granddaughter Ali Humphreys. She is preceded in death by her husband Prince, brother James, daughter Sandra Hester and a son Stuart.
A graveside memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 5 at Satilla Free Will Baptist Church with Jimmie Ryles officiating.
