Mrs. Avey Collin, 79

Mrs. Avey Collins, 79, passed away Aug. 28 at Hazlehurst Court and Rehab following an extended illness.
Mrs. Collins was born Aug. 28, 1941, in Jesup. She was preceded by death by her parents, Farrell Carter and Ruby Murray Carter, her husband, Donnie Collins, son, Patrick Collins and brothers, Farrell Carter Jr. and Darrell Carter. She was a member of Hazlehurst Church of God and was formerly employed by Williams Brother Trucking.
She is survived by her daughter, Daphne (Andy) Hamrick of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Natalie Hamrick and Caleb Hamrick; sisters, Winifred Hamm of Roper, Marilyn Landon, Betty Sue Turner, Shirlene Wooten and Angela Eileen Bullard, all of Hazlehurst; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Aug. 30 at Carter Family Cemetery with the Rev. Alvin Merritt officiating.
Miles Funeral Home was in charge.
