SPLOST Projects Explained
The Heart of Georgia Altamaha Regional Commission’s Regional Transportation Roundtable Executive Committee will hold two public meetings to enable the public to learn more about the Regional T-SPLOST referendum of 2010 and the proposed referendum for November, 2020.
The 2020 referendum will decide whether or not to continue a one percent sales tax to fund transportation projects in the Heart of Georgia Altamaha area, which includes Jeff Davis, Appling, Bleckley, Candler, Dodge, Emanuel, Evans, Johnson, Laurens, Montgomery, Tattnall, Telfair, Toombs, Treutlen, Wayne, Wheeler and Wilcox counties.
The projects currently being funded and projects proposed for the 2020 referendum will be available for review and comment.
The meetings are scheduled for July 15, 5-6:30 p.m. at Baxley City Hall, and July 16, 5-6:30 p.m. at Vidalia City Hall Annex-Municipal Courtroom.
