Norman Johnson Dies at 83
Norman Johnson, who owned and operated Johnson’s Office Solutions for 58 years and was a founding member of Elbethel Church in Hazlehurst, died Saturday at his home surrounded by his family. He was 83 years old.
Joseph Norman Johnson was born May 29, 1937, in Jeff Davis County to the late Joseph Johnson and Kathryn Norman Johnston. While he was a member of Elbethel Church since its founding, in recent years he attended Shiloh Methodist Church across the highway from his home in Wheeler County. He was laid to rest in Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery along with other family members.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Maxie Jo Mimbs Johnson; sons Derek (Cindy) Johnson of Lumber City and Zachary (Deborah) Johnson of Hazlehurst; siblings Brenda Graham of Hazlehurst, Bill (Teresa) Johnston of Hazlehurst, Kaye (Ronnie) Harrell of Hazlehurst, Libby (Sonny) Stanley of Tennessee, and Joe (Patti) Johnson Jr. of Tennessee; grandchildren Lindsey, Dallas, DeAnna, and Jared Johnson; and special caregiver Winifred “Freddie” Nails.
