4-Wheeler/Motorcycle Crash Claims One Life

A Thursday night 4-wheeler/motorcycle crash on Danny Street resulted in the death of one driver and serious injuries to the other.
According to a Georgia State Patrol report, Nathaniel Sherard “Nate” King, 19, of North Miller Street, was driving a 2007 Kawasaki KX450F eastbound on Danny Street when a Yamaha Banshee 350, driven by King’s uncle, Robin Daniel King, 37, of Wildwood Drive, crossed the path of the Kawasaki.
Nate King applied braking but was unable to stop before hitting the 4-wheeler in the right side.
A witness to the accident, Nate King’s father and Robin King’s brother, said his brother had stopped in the roadway to talk with him. There was a vehicle parked in the roadway that apparently blocked Robin King’s view of his nephew’s motorcycle coming down the street. As Robin King pulled away to go around the vehicle, the 4-wheeler crossed Nate King’s path.
The State Trooper investigating the accident reported that when he arrived on the scene, a large crowd had gathered and civilian interference with roadway evidence and debris prevented a thorough investigation into the crash. Both vehicles were taken from the scene prior to the trooper’s arrival. Nate King’s vehicle was located later but Robin King’s vehicle was not found.
