Senior Banners
With schools closed and sports brought to a halt, Rory Chaney of Hazlehurst Main Street has developed a way to lift the spirits of Jeff Davis High School seniors whose final months of high school activities have been stripped away from them by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chaney is heading up efforts to fill the Hazlehurst downtown area and high school sports venues with banners honoring members of the JDHS Class of 2020.
There are two options on hanging a senior’s banner. One will be downtown on pole brackets and the other will be on the fences of the football field and practice field on Pat Dixon Road. Brackets are not needed if you choose to hang on the fences.
Please provide your senior’s banner and brackets no later than April 13. If you already have a banner for your senior, you don’t have to buy another one. If your senior pictures were done locally, contact your photographer for a banner.
Chaney has prices for a 2×3 banner from $25-$49. Email her at rory.chaney@mchsi.com for the numbers of the businesses if you need them.
*If you want to place the banner on a pole, email for parts and how to put the brackets together.
* Hazlehurst Main Street can provide the labor to hang the banners and a large banner congratulating the entire class of 2020 and will start once the shelter-in-place mandate has passed.
