Area COVID-19 Cases Rising
According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, a case of COVID-19 has been attributed to Jeff Davis County after last week’s report of a case was ruled a “false positive.”
Cases also were identified in neighboring Telfair County and nearby Wayne County, both of which had no cases last week. Telfair and Wayne now have four and three cases respectively.
Area counties showing the biggest surge in reported cases are Coffee (10 last week, 38 this week), Ware (five last week, 37 this week) and Pierce (two last week, 28 this week).
Wheeler and Long counties are the only area counties with no increase in COVID-19 cases, and Montgomery County is the only area county without an identified case.
