Graveside services for Ms. Jennifer Dotson, 57, who died Nov. 7, were held Nov. 16 at Philadelphia Cemetery in Hazlehurst where Dr. James Minor of True Christ Outreach Ministries of Norcross and the Rev. Joe McCloud officiated.
Ms. Dotson was the daughter of Mattie Jo Kirby Collins and the late Roland McKinnely Dotson Sr. She attended Jeff Davis Elementary School and graduated from West Fulton High School in 1980. She was employed with Consumer Credit Counseling Service where she spent 10 years. She loved jazz music and art, exploring several art galleries and different cultures. In 2018 she was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. Preceding her in death was her father, Roland Dotson and sister, Melinda Pebbles Dotson.
Survivors include her mother, Mattie Jo Kirby Collins of Atlanta; brother, Roland Dotson Jr. (Martha) of Stockbridge; three nieces, Caleb Keilah David and Gabrielle Dotson, both of Atlanta, and Elisha Dotson of Norfolk, Va; two nephews, Elias Dotson (Marion) of Atlanta, and Damario Dotson of Detroit, MI; loving caretaker and special aunt, Virginia Kirby of Fayetteville; several aunts include Betty Barney of Hazlehurst and uncles include, Thomas (Dorothy) Dotson and Donald Dotson, both of Hazlehurst; and a host of relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers were first cousins.
Thornton’s Funeral Home of Hazlehurst was in charge of arrangements.
