Mr. William ‘Red’ Register, 85

Mr. William “Red” Register, 85, of Hazlehurst, died Oct. 27 at Jeff Davis Hospital.
Mr. Register was born Feb. 24, 1934, in Jeff Davis County to the late Arthur Hobson Register and the late Kennie Stapleton Register. He was a veteran of the United States Army, formerly employed with Handy Andy and a faithful member of Elizabeth Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Jean Dixon Register.
Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Register and partner Melissa Myers of Hazlehurst; son Terrell Register (Pam) of Hazlehurst; sisters, Allene Yawn of Hazlehurst, Karen Upshaw of Warner Robins and Betty Nelson of Warner Robins; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Yawn officiating. Interment will follow in Palms Memorial Garden.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the Adult Golden Age Sunday School Class.
Active pallbearers are Danny Steptoe, Phil Jarriel, Wadis Davis, Scott Worth, Bill Johnston, and Greg Ussery.
Music will be rendered by Elizabeth Baptist Church Adult Choir.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home is in charge.
