Mrs. Beatrice Griggs, 62

Graveside services for Mrs. Beatrice Griggs, 62, who died Aug. 17, were held Aug. 22 at Dillard Cemetery, St. Paul Baptist Church Road in Lumber City, where Elder Michael Johnson officiated.
Mrs. Griggs, born in McRae, was the daughter of the late William and Ophelia Robinson. She grew up in Alamo and graduated from Wheeler County High School. She later married Larry Griggs in 1983. During her early adult life she worked at Amercord in Lumber City for years until they shut down, later working at Hazlehurst Mills until her health failed. Mrs. Griggs was an active member of The Pentecostal Church of God in Lumber City. She enjoyed cooking and being around people she loved.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Griggs; Barbara Postell of Savannah, Corey (Missy) Griggs of Graham, Shemeeka Griggs of Columbus, Shay Griggs (Kelly) of Hazlehurst, Larry Griggs Jr. of Hazlehurst, and William Griggs (Linda) of Hazlehurst. Beatrice had eight brothers, which five of them preceded her in death: Eddie B. (Willie Mae) Robinson, James (Berthene ) Robinson, John (Grace) Robinson, William (Lelia) Robinson, Lewis (Claudia) Robinson, Billy (Gloria) Robinson, Benjamin Robinson, Larry (Veronica) Robinson and a sister, Barbara (Lee Otis) Mackey; 15 grands, Terrick Griggs, Raliegh Griggs, Tyreek Postell, Devonta Postell, Tyler Smith, Tori Weaver, Tyshun Weaver, Tamia Weaver, Jazmine Johnson, Jashawn Johnson, Kelly Mackey, Kylan Mackey, Juliana Griggs, Ava Griggs, Alza Griggs and a host of nephews, nieces, in-laws and friends.
Active pallbearers were Vashaun James, Richard Wooten Jr., Robbie Mackey, Lee Otis Mackey Jr., Stanley Clements, and Julius Griggs.
Honorary pallbearers were nephews.
