Mr. Gary ‘Pops’ Brinkley, 69

A Celebration of Life for Mr. Gary “Pops” Brinkley, 69, who died Aug. 25 at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah after a short illness, will be held Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. at 76 Spell Rd. Darrell Johnson will deliver the eulogy. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
Mr. Brinkley, born and raised in Wayne County, but resided in Jeff Davis County, was an owner/operator truck driver for the majority of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, EL and Nellie Brinkley, and his granddaughter, Hannah Brinkley.
Survivors include his brother, Terry Brinkley, his former wife, Patsy Brinkley, his children, Jamar Brinkley (Kelly), Jarone Brinkley (Crystal), John Brinkley, all of Hazlehurst, Blaine Foskey of Soperton, and Nakayla Sellers of Hazlehurst, 11 grandchildren, Deidre Brinkley, Amber Slusher, Jacob Hughes, Jenna Ball, Lara Brinkley, Grant Brinkley, Carson Brinkley, Layla Brinkley, Amara Mims, Aidan Mims, and Joseph Brinkley; three great-grands, Jada Porter, Saylor Cornett, and Owen Slusher.
Wainwright and Parlor Funeral Home will be in charge of the services.
