Mrs. Rosa Bell (Lucy) Drake, 75

Mrs. Rosa Bell (Lucy) Drake, 75, died July 6 in Atlanta after a brief illness at Southwest Christian Center.
Evangelist Carrie L. Thomas and Elder Eddie Harmon officiated with burial in Hazlehurst Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Drake, daughter of the late James and Arlena Clark, was also known as Mother Rosa Drake. She received her education in Jeff Davis County, were she graduated from Hazlehurst High School, Class of 1961. She later moved to Atlanta where she obtained employment with the Arrow Shirt Company for over 20 years. After leaving the public sector she became a self-employed caregiver until her health began to change. She was married to James Drake and had four children. She became a member of Open Door Outreach Center of Atlanta where she became a licensed missionary and served on various committees, later becoming a member at Spiritual Growth Ministries International of College Park, where her son, Michael, is pastor. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Drake; daughter, Sonya Drake; brother, James (Bubba) Clark and granddaughter, Krystal Slater.
Survivors include her son, Michael Jerome (Zilphia) Clark; two daughters, Kristie Swelling and Latonya (Reginald) Webb; sister, Ollie Mae Clark Booker, all of Atlanta; two aunts, Mrs. Eddie Sue (John) Allen and Mrs. Connie (Bishop Mobley) Stevenson;14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren God-daughter, Faith (Howard) Southard, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers were Rodney Booker, Ralph Booker, Freddie Porch, Isaac Swelling, Quinton Snow, Mobley Stevenson Jr. and Timothy Kates.
Honorary pallbearers were Morris Key, Donnie Love, Robert Hill, Bardrew Moore, Keith Johnson and Buddy Johnson.
The Choir provided music.
Thornton’s Funeral Home of Hazlehurst was in charge of arrangements.
