Mr. Jimmie McCrimmon, 68
Services for Mr. Jimmie McCrimmon, 68, who died May 18, were held June 1 at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Pastor Reuben Bennett Jr. presided with Pastor James Earl Cray giving the eulogy. Burial was in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Mr. McCrimmon, born in McRae, was the son of the late Robert and Pauline McCrimmon. He was reared by his grandparents, the late Forrest and Mattie Broady. He attended Jeff Davis County Public School System and graduated in 1970. While in school he was the drum major for the band. He was employed with Hazlehurst Mills and ERO Industry. He retired from the City of Hazlehurst in 1974. He was a member of Antioch Church of God in Hazlehurst. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; siblings, Johnny Dixon, Don Johnson, and Cynthia McCrimmon.
Survivors include his devoted spouse, Joyce Delancy; four sons, Kreg Wright, David McCrimmon (Verica), Eric McCrimmon, and Sammie Parker; three daughters, Candace Bryant (Dennis), Tiffany Cray, and Erica McCrimmon; seven brothers, Robert McCrimmon, Greg McCrimmon, Michael McCrimmon, Billy McCrimmon, Lamar Johnson, Stanley Johnson and Stewart Johnson; three sisters, Patricia Whitfield, Gretchen Johnson, and Suenell Fredrick; 22 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends, including the Harris and Benjamin families.
Active pallbearers were Anthony Williams, Mike Dotson, William Broady and Lashaun Vann.
Honorary pallbearers were Blue Angels, Mr. Stanford, Larry Williams, and Ivery Broady.
Thornton’s Funeral Home of Hazlehurst was in charge of arrangements.
