Mr. Jerry W., Anderson, 63

Services for Mr. Jerry W. Anderson, 63, who died May 5, were held May 18 at Thornton’s Funeral Home Chapel in Hazlehurst where the Rev. Joseph McLeod officiated.
Mr. Anderson was the son of the late Jerry M. Anderson and Mildred Frederick. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Leonard Frederick and brother, Jarvis Hill. He was a 1974 graduate of Jeff Davis High School. After high school he enlisted in the United States Army and service his country for many years. He was well known in the community and a father figure to everyone. He was blessed with a good sense of humor.
Survivors include one son, Jared “Tiga” Kornegay Sr. (Keysha); mother, Mildred Frederick; three grandchildren, Brittney Kornegay, Brianna Kornegay, and Jared “Man” Kornegay Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Paris Kornegay and Zaiden Davis; three sisters, Nicole Mathis, Janice Edwards, and Angela Williams; two brothers, Lenny Frederick and Freddy Frederick; devoted cousin, Vanessa McNeely and a host of family and friends.
Thornton’s Funeral Home of Hazlehurst was in charge of arrangements.
