Mr. Will Dawson, 91
Mr. Will Dawson, 91, of Hazlehurst, died Feb. 24 at Lumber City Nursing Home.
Mr. Dawson was born Dec. 28, 1927, in Dodge County to the late Hoke Eugene Dawson and the late Evelyn Lowery Dawson. Since 1934 he has lived in Jeff Davis County, a retired farmer and was retired from Jeff Davis County Road Department. He was a faithful member of Oakland Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and is preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mae Ola Wood Dawson, sister, Eugenia Bell Dawson.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Ellen and Randall Miller of Chatsworth, Gail and Tommy Hogg of Dalton and Janice and Cliff Litke of Hazlehurst; sons and daughter-in-law, Boyce and Melba Dawson of Douglas and Eugene Dawson of Hazlehurst; 10 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Feb. 27 at Oakland Baptist Church with the Rev. Royce Hulett officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Jennifer Long, Carla Burns, Heather Johnson, Shannon Moser, Kerrie Dawson, Sommer Perkins, Sharene Dawson, Shawna Farmer, Britany Hogg, and several great and great-great grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were grandsons, Brad Johnson, Eric Long, Chris Dawson, Jason Burns, Matt Dawson, Seth Perkins, Eric Miller, Nichols Hogg, and Joe Moser.
Music was rendered by Taylor Hutchinson and Vic Brantley.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
