Mr. Dave Smith, 66

Mr. Dave Smith, 66, of Hazlehurst, died Jan. 9 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin.
Mr. Smith was born June 14, 1952, in Jeff Davis County to the late Lowell Davis Smith Sr. and the late Tommie Ruth Harrell Simmons. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and the former owner and operator of Hazlehurst Flower Shop. He was a member of Elbethel Church and is preceded in death by his wife, Dixie Jones Smith and step-father, Herbert Simmons.
Survivors include daughters, Carmen (Ben) Leggett of Hazlehurst, Monica (Travis) Housley of Blackshear and Regina Hughes of Hazlehurst; son, Brian (Lori) Sapp of Hazlehurst; grandchildren, Logan Leggett, Caleb Leggett, Sunni Housley, Harper Housley, Kyler Sapp, Ashley Hughes and Nate Hughes; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Jan. 11 in the chapel of Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry McKinnon officiating. Interment followed in Hazlehurst City Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Ben Leggett, Logan Leggett, Caleb Leggett, Travis Housley, Stan Martinez and Lavern Bruce.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
