Mr. Brad Walters, 84

Mr. Brad Walters, 84, of Hazlehurst, died Dec. 9 at his residence.
Mr. Walters was born Sept. 14, 1934, in Jeff Davis County to the late Marcellus G. Walters and the late Mamie Lou Colson Walters. He was a retired farmer, retired from Hazlehurst Auto Parts and member of Union Springs Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Baldwin and his son, Wade Walters, seven sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include his wife, of 62 years, Mrs. Shirley Chaney Walters of Hazlehurst; daughters, Karen (Ricky) Cravey, Lera (Wayne) Smith, Jackie (Glynn) Rentz, Gloria (Jack) Galich and Vicki (Tangent) Jones; son, Carl (Ann) Walters; sister, Betty Jean Burnsed; 18 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Dec. 13 at Union Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Merle Webster and the Rev. David Herndon officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were member of Unions Springs Missionary Baptist Church and the staff of Comfort Care Hospice.
Active pallbearers were Shad Chambers, Wesley Rentz, Phillip Rentz, Jack Galich, Craig Galich and Blake Walters.
Musical selections were rendered by Karla James, Wesley Rentz and the Union Springs Missionary Baptist Church Choir.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
