Mr. Taylor Dominy Sr., 81
Mr. Taylor Dominy Sr., 81, of Hazlehurst died Nov. 23 in Macon.
Mr. Dominy was born June 27, 1937 in Dexter, GA to the late Alton W. and the late Viola Fellows Dominy. A graduate of University of Georgia, Mr. Dominy was the original owner and operator of Medical Arts Pharmacy. As a member of First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst, he served as deacon, deacon chairman and Sunday school teacher for many years. Mr. Dominy was active in the community working with the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club, and other civic organizations. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Edwin A. “Bud” Dominy, Alta Faye Dominy Butler and Carl Max Dominy.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-three years, Patricia S. “Patsy” Dominy; daughters, Dana Davis (Jeff), and Kelly Harrison (Shawn) and son, Dr. W. Taylor “Raife” Dominy Jr. (Claudia); sister, Patsy Dominy; brother, Herbert “Stump” Dominy (Wanda); grandchildren include Taylor Harrison, Marc Harrison, Baker Davis, and Alex Dominy and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Nov. 26 at First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst with the Rev. Ronald Cobb, the Rev. Brad Waters, the Rev. Barry Owens, and the Rev. Jeffery Spell officiating. Interment followed in Hazlehurst Memorial Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Ken McLeod, Milton Kirkland, Jack Godfrey, Stanley Land, Ken Smith, and Chip Wood.
Honorary pallbearers were Royce Presley, B.H. Clayton, Jimmie Ryles, Ted Yaun, Bill Ryal, and Ed Wilson.
Musical selections were rendered by Cindy Hulett.
Wainwright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
