Mrs. Estelle Douglas Powell, 97

Mrs. Estelle Douglas Powell, 97, of Graham, passed away Nov. 17 in Appling Health Care.
Mrs. Powell, the daughter of the late Steven Douglas and Mattie Hutchinson Douglas, was a native of Jeff Davis County. She was a seamstress formerly employed with Hazlehurst Manufacturing Co., and a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hammond Powell, and children Marie Murray and Herman Powell.
Survivors include daughter Jean Crosby of Eulee, Fla.; sons, Edward Powell of Jacksonville, Fla., and Randall Powell of Graham; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were Damon Powell, Tommy Powell, Colby Powell, Earl Baucom, Gary Crosby, Rick Crosby and Andy Crosby.
Services were held Nov. 20 at Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home. Interment was in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Wigley and the Rev. George Carroll Paul officiating.
Wainright-Parlor Funeral Home was in charge.
