Ms. Marcy LaShon Vann, 52

Services for Ms. Marcy LaShon Vann, 52, who died Sept. 19 at DeKalb Medical Center in Decatur, were held Sept. 29 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.
Pastor Sallie Kirkland and Minister Chaldean Wilcox officiated with burial in Morgan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Graham.
Ms. Vann, born in Hazlehurst, was the daughter of the late Joneil Vann and Rebecca Vann. She attended public schools in Jeff Davis County and graduated in 1984. She attended Bauder College in Atlanta, studying fashion design. She was employed an an account manager for Leprechaun Promotions in Norcross for 14 years. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Tucker. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. Preceding her in death were two sisters, Patricia L. Cornish and Constance “Connie” Clemons and her brother-in-law, Jimmy Scurry.
Survivors include her children, Shaniterra Vann, Jamel Wright (Shamara), Jarez Wright and Sam Quinton McNeal; grandchildren, Jaterrion Head, Joeneil Vann, Samuel Harold Ingram III and Semaj Ingram; sisters and brother, Jared “Jenny Mae” Scurry, Clara “Vann” Jones (Leroy), Monique Vann and William Vann; uncles and Aunt, Findlay and James Vann, Elijah and Thelma Clark and a host of relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers were Zarett Allen, Clarence Johnson, Hirosha Thomas, Erik Cornish, Paul Cornish, and LaShadRick Clemons.
Music was rendered by Hazlehurst Community Choir and Jada Clark.
Thornton Funeral Home of Hazlehurst was in charge of arrangements.
